How great was it to see a packed house at Churchdown Community Centre last night for our Concert.
"A Night at the Musicals" was a huge success, raising money for Gloucester and District SAMARITANS. Our fabulous guest soloist Danielle Peters was sensational. Rapturous applause all round. Sarah Chung out pianist, who stepped in to fill the spot of our usual accompanist was sensational, setting the keys alight and bringing the house down (Not literally I'm glad to say). A marvellous effort by all members, who not only sung but set the stage up in record time. Also a wonderful performance by our very own soloists John Veits, Roger Higgs, Jeff Bourton and our own MD, Ralph Barnes. Ralph also conducted the choir with wizardry, at one point smashing his hand into the music stand, as a result of the sheer passion he puts into all the performances. Luckily Ralphs hands are insured for 3 million pounds each, and no injury was caused. Music stand only receiving basic first aid.
We would like to thank Churchdown Parish Council for the funding for our new microphones which we used for the first time in a concert. They even made the compere's jokes and poetry slightly more bearable.
Enjoy the photo's that were taken last night (Credit to Pete Wilson), and see you at the Christmas Concerts.
